About the Host - EURid
EURid is the private, not-for-profit organisation that manages the .eu top-level domain under a contract with the European Commission. The registry was founded in 2003 by DNS Belgium (the registry for .be), Instituto di Informatica e Telematica (the registry for .it) and Stiftelsen för Internetinfrastruktur IIS (the registry for .se). The first .eu domain names were registered in 2006. In 2009, .eu passed 3 million registrations.
.eu is among the largest TLDs in the world.
